MATT SHAW for Nightmoves
This collection of 5 collages by artist Matt Shaw is the first in what we hope to be a regular series of artist commissions for Nightmoves. We feel that Nightmoves is, at its best, a collaborative space that takes on the energy of the people, music, and moments that inhabit it. We made it a place to be filled by the DJs and dancers and partiers we love - one that leaves you with memories that are blurry and thrilling and free - and singular.
In thinking about ways to continue to work with the artists in our community, it seemed truest to that idea to make this very limited run of a group of images that speak to the moment, to print each collection only once, debuting a new collection every six months or so.
We hope it captures our experience of Nightmoves - recurring, exciting, but different each time. Unexpected, various, and hopefully beautiful, like so many nights at the club have been.
